Silver Calcium Alginate Dressings and Ropes are soft, conformable wound dressings impregnated with Antimicrobial Silver. The silver-impregnated calcium alginate fibres, when in contact with wound exudate or blood, form a gel which creates a moist wound healing environment. The silver in the wound dressing has an antimicrobial effect upon various types of microorganisms including Staphylococcus Aureus and Escherichia Coli. Calcium Alginate Dressings with Antimicrobial Silver are sterilized and must not be re-sterilized. The products are sterile unless the package is opened or damaged.

Instructions for use
✢ Carefully clean the wound and its surrounding area with sterile water or saline solution and dry the surrounding skin gently.
✢ Select the right size of dressing for the wound area. Carefully open the sterile pouch to remove the dressing inside.
✢ A secondary dressing is necessary when using silver calcium alginates. If needed, cut the tape and dressing using sterile scissors.
✢ Dampen dressing with sterile water or saline solution to avoid damaging the surrounding skin, then secure it to the wound area.
